1. Drink plenty of water
When you’re dehydrated, your mind can feel cloudy and you might not be able to think as clearly as you usually do. Not drinking enough water is the main cause for dehydration, and you might not necessarily think you’re dehydrated until it’s gets so bad that you need to see a doctor. If you’re feeling lethargic, tired and like you can’t think straight, try drinking 300—500ml of water and see if that helps.
2. Make regular exercise a habit
People who make a habit of exercising on a regular basis tend to feel much better than those who don’t put in that time and effort. If you’ve ever spent an extended period of time exercising regularly, you will know how it can affect every part of your body and mind. If you’re struggling to find the time to exercise, start off with just five minutes per day. This could be first thing in the morning or last thing at night. It could be a brisk walk during your lunch hour, or a quick gym session down the road after work.
3. Go to sleep on time
If you’re not used to going to sleep before 1am, try to change your sleeping habits. This is particularly the case if you go to work in the morning and need to be up quite early in order to get to work. Measure how much sleep you’re getting per night – if you’re getting less than seven hours then it could explain why you don’t feel like you have a clear and positive mindset. Likewise, if you’re falling asleep without remembering because you’re falling asleep in the evening at any time and in any place, this could mean that you’re sleep deprived, and this also plays a massive part in how your mind feels.
