I’m new to tarot. Had a friend in college who was brilliant it and decided I wanted to give it a go. I just don’t know where to get a deck from. One that connects to me. Any suggestions? (Anything besides Amazon) Thanks!

If you have a local witchy shop, that’s the place to start. Do some online research and then go in and talk to the shopkeeper. They probably have shop decks you can look over. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they likely have retail accounts with most of the large publishers so they can offer reasonably competitive prices.

I ordered a tarot deck and received it today. It’s absolutely beautiful!! Its the spiritsong tarot set. Link below. I used coupon code IMWILD for a small discount (can’t remember, possibly 10% off)

In my country it’s available in a lot of bookstores, but i guess that depends on location.

If you aren’t comfortable going in person, check out Etsy! I’ve purchased a couple from there now. Someone also mentioned Tamed Wild. They’re great too! I’ve purchased a few things from them

    Cant go wrong with etsy.

If you have the money for it. I recomment creepingmoon’s anima mundi

If not a standardish RWS deck will work. I think biddy tarot has the everyday tarot for only a few bucks. And benebell wen has online copies of her spirit keepers deck that you can print and cut yourself.

    I’m a little late but—

Honestly, The Wild Unknown by Kim Krans was my first deck and I personally couldn’t recommend it enough for beginners. The book explains every card’s meaning, lists and explains some spreads for beginners to learn, and explains the meaning of the suits and how each element affects the meanings. The only downside for me is that the book doesn’t explain reversed card meanings at all (whether or not you read reversed cards is personal preference, but if you do read them, you’ll have to look somewhere else if you’re looking for the meanings behind them). However, the descriptions of the upright meanings of the cards were easy to digest and understand for me when I was a beginner. I got it for $20 🙂
