Hi! I’m a computer scientist and I practise tarot (and magic in general). I don’t think it’s a silly question at all. There is a very real problem in computer science of sourcing randomness, and there’s an easy to read summary here: https://www.random.org/randomness/
If it uses a pseudo-RNG I wouldn’t consider it legitimate, because it unfolds according to an algorithm rather than being reflective of some physical material in the universe.
If it’s not obvious that care has been put into it, it’s probably safe to assume they’ve done it wrong; it’s easy to implement the wrong thing.
